[Finished] Missing Pieces (BTS) ·
  • Yoona
  • It’s Friday afternoon and Taemin and I are at the dance studio going through the rehearsal once again. He’s participating in a dance show and this week’s theme is still related to Halloween since there was no episode last week. We’re using one of his own songs actually which makes a lot of sense. The message behind the dance is very powerful too as it is meant to show the duality of a person – the internal demons we all have. Thus, Taemin will show one side while I represent his internal struggles and devils. We’ve come up with the choreography and now it’s a matter or perfecting it and practicing it. The costumes are pretty neat too – black with a little bit of red. The atmosphere is going to be pretty dark too which goes well with the theme.
  • ‘I think we should do well on Sunday.’ I say as we both sit on the floor, trying to catch our breath.
  • ‘Yeah we should. Thank you for doing this Yoona. I really appreciate that you accepted to be my partner.’ He says, giving me a warm smile.
  • ‘It’s my pleasure. How did you even know about me?’ I ask, finally able to ask him the question since we have gotten to know each other pretty well.
  • ‘I had worked with Jimin before and he kept saying how incredible you were. He even had shown me a video of you during rehearsals and I realized I wished to work with you but didn’t have the opportunity yet. So, when they said we need to do this in pairs and we could bring guests, I thought I’d ask you.’ He explains and I can’t help but smile.
  • ‘Of course. I forgot that you and Jimin had performed together once. It was a very good dance now that I recall it.’ I say. We hear a knock on the door and we both look up to see the pretty secretary walk in.
  • ‘Ms. Yoona, there’s someone here to see you.’ She says and I nod. Taemin looks at me and I shrug as we both stand up. The secretary leaves the room and I look at Taemin.
  • ‘Were you expecting someone?’ He asks and I shake my head. The door opens once again and I see Hoseok there, holding a plastic bag full of food.
  • ‘Hobi!!’ I yell out as I run towards him. He places the bag on the floor just as I jump into his arms. He picks me up and twirls me around while his laughter fills the room. ‘I missed you Hobi.’ I say.
  • ‘I missed you too.’ He says as he hugs me tightly as we both momentarily forget that Taemin is there until he clears his throat to remind us of his presence. Hoseok puts me down and I run my hand through my hair.
  • ‘Is she that friendly with everyone?’ Taemin asks as he laughs.
  • ‘Yah! I love all the members of BTS. They’re my best friends.’ I say quickly but it’s clear he’s not that convinced, yet, I can see he’s taking it very positively. ‘What brings you here?’ I ask, turning to Hoseok, wanting desperately not to talk about what Taemin is thinking. It seems both men realize it as well.
  • ‘We finished early and I decided to come bring you some food and wish you look for Sunday.’ He says as he looks at Taemin.
  • ‘Thanks. She’s an amazing choreographer and dancer. I can see why you all love her so much.’ Taemin says.
  • ‘She is but that’s not the only reason we do. We’ve known her from the very start of our journey and we’ve been there for each other a lot.’ Hoseok says and I nod.
  • ‘That’s true. You said you brought food?’ I ask and he nods. My eyes light up as I smile brightly. ‘Awesome! What did you bring?’ I ask.
  • ‘I brought you sweet and sour pork since I know how much you love that. I also brought some noodles and some sizzling prawns. Taemin, there’s enough for you as well.’ Hoseok says.
  • ‘That’s okay. You know, it’s great you’re here. I need to go and talk to my manager about some things but I didn’t want to keep Yoona waiting. I’ll go take care of that while you’re here. Please, enjoy the food.’ He says. I nod, knowing that he wants to leave me alone with Hoseok. We watch as he leaves and then we look at each other, the two of us starting to laugh. We both sit down on the floor as Hoseok takes out the food from the bag.
  • ‘Sometimes I forget that not everyone is that friendly with their choreographer.’ I say.
  • ‘Ha! That’s because you’re special.’ He says and I raise my eyebrow at him. ‘You are. You treat us really well so we really love you.’ He says and I smile. ‘Next Sunday, the boys and I will be going over to Minji and Yun’s place to watch you perform.’ He says as he hands me my portion of food.
  • ‘Really? That’s awesome. Mentioning Minji, when is Jungkook planning on telling her?’ I ask him and he shrugs.
  • ‘I don’t know. Soon I hope because I can see how desperate he is to tell her but he keeps back. He’s scared she’ll cast him off.’ Hoseok says and I nod understanding Jungkook’s dilemma. He knows how badly he took it when he found out his parents lied to him, or more precisely kept it a secret from him. He doesn’t want to shatter everything for her but he also wants her to know the truth. ‘How’s your brother doing at his new job?’ Hoseok asks as we start to eat.
  • ‘Pretty good actually. He’s working really hard and coming home very tired but he looks the happiest I have ever seen him. He even made a friend with some other newbie.’ I explain.
  • ‘That’s good. How is everyone treating you? You seem to be getting along nicely with Taemin.’ He comments and I nod. I chew on the piece of pork and swallow before I manage to answer.
  • ‘They’re treating me good Hobi, no need to worry. Taemin is pretty amazing. He’s a very talented dancer and you’re going to love the performance Hobi.’ I say excitedly and he nods.
  • ‘I’m sure I will. You’re in it.’ He says which causes me to smile. ‘Everyone’s missing you back there. It feels weird doing rehearsals without you there.’ He says.
  • ‘I know Hobi but it’s almost over. Just two more days and then on Monday I’ll be there to annoy you again and I’m going to work you harder than ever before.’ I say to which we both laugh.
  • Minji
  • It’s finally Sunday which means the boys will be coming over. Yun and I are both super excited, like two little kids. I remember when I was a kid; Yun, Minho and I were always going over to each other’s houses – spending days there and having sleepovers. We used to spend endless days together, having fun, laughing and sometimes getting into trouble.
  • ‘Hey why are you crying?’ Yun says, her voice surprising me. I turn around to face her and wipe away the tear that has fallen.
  • ‘I was thinking of back when we were young and you, Minho and I used to spend days together. Having the boys come over kind of brings back that excitement.’ I say.
  • ‘I see. I know what you mean. Do you remember when we used to sneak out of our houses to go to the tree house?’ She asks and I nod.
  • *Flashback*
  • It was ten minutes past midnight, the time that Yun, Minho and I all agreed to meet up. It’s a hot, July summer night, the air slightly cool because it’s late. The street is absolutely quiet, with no one in sight, except for three teenage kids.
  • ‘Come on let’s go.’ Minho says as he takes my hand and Yun’s. We giggle, like the two teenage girls we are as we let him lead us. A little beyond where we live are the woods. Unlike most woods in stories, these aren’t scary or dangerous with creatures laying around, still, our parents do not really like the ideas of us coming here at night. Yet, we cannot keep away.
  • Our fathers have built us a tree house and now nobody could keep us away. Minho’s father is an architect and he had designed the whole thing for us back when we were just seven years old. Him, my own dad and Yun’s dad spent hours building it in their spare time and ever since it was completed, we’ve been coming here for years – our little own safe haven.
  • We reach our tree house and Minho lets go of ours hand. He goes up the stairs first as he reaches for the light so that Yun and I can see. We climb up the stairs and we go inside. The three of us sit down as we all start to laugh. ‘They won’t be too happy if they find out we sneaked out again.’ I say, unable to stop my giggling.
  • ‘Ohh come on, it’s not like they won’t know where we are or like it’s our first time.’ Minho says as he reaches for the box where we have our board games. ‘Want to play UNO?’ He asks.
  • ‘Yeah sure.’ Yun replies as she adjusts herself while Minho begins to shuffle the cards. ‘Can you believe that we’re starting sixth form soon?’ She asks excitedly.
  • ‘Tell me about it. Two years and then University!!’ I say just as excited while Minho shakes his head.
  • ‘Only you two could get this excited about going to University.’ Minho says as he begins to deal the cards.
  • ‘Of course. We’ll be on our to way to chase our dreams. I’ll be a teacher, Yun will be a nutritionist and you, my dear Minho will be a doctor.’ I say and he nods as he gives me a smile. ‘Are you planning on joining the school soccer team?’ I ask.
  • ‘Of course. Aren’t you joining the Taekwondo club?’ He asks and I nod.
  • ‘Yep and the athletics team as well. Do you know they hold a major sports event every semester?’ I ask.
  • ‘Really? That’s awesome. You always were an incredible runner and no one can mess with your kicks and punches. It’s a pity there isn’t a swimming team. Hey Yun, will you be joining the theatre club at sixth form as well? You always were amazing on that stage.’ Minho comments.
  • ‘I’m not sure but I think so. I can’t really resist the stage.’ Yun says laughing. ‘I can’t wait to begin making more memories with you guys and I’m glad Jae is also coming to sixth form with us.’ She says, a shy smile on her face.
  • ‘How are things going with you and Jae? You’ve been together for three months now, right?’ Minho asks. I see Yun going even redder.
  • ‘Things are going great. My Eomma doesn’t quite like it because she says I’m too young but he treats me right and he makes me laugh all the time.’ Yun says.
  • ‘Well we’re quite young ourselves. I mean I’m sixteen and Minji is fifteen, almost sixteen like you. I remember when her appa found out about us, he wasn’t too happy either but we promised we would not do anything.’ Minho says laughing. I cringe at the memory of hearing my appa and Minho talking about the importance of not having sex before we’re adults and that we need to focus on school.
  • ‘But your situation is different. Your families know each other, the three of us grew up together but my family don’t really know Jae that much, even if we’re both from the same village.’ Yun explains.
  • ‘Then make sure they get to know him. Jae is a pretty nice guy and he’s smart too. Doesn’t he want to become a lawyer when he grows up?’ I ask and she nods.
  • ‘He wants to work at your father’s firm which is what made my father relent a little. You know how much my father respects yours.’ She says and I nod. ‘Come on – let’s play. Shall Minji go first since she’s the youngest.’ She teases.
  • ‘Hey we’re all ’97 liners okay? I’m just the last one to have my birthday.’ I retort back just as Minho ruffles my hair.
  • It’s three in the morning and Yun is sleeping in corner in one of the beds we have while Minho and I are sitting in the balcony, looking at the stars in the sky. I’m sitting between his legs, my head and back resting against his chest while he rests against the wall, his arms snaked around me. ‘It’s such a beautiful night.’ I say.
  • ‘It’s always a beautiful night if I’m spending it with you.’ He murmurs into my ear. I smile as I snuggle closer.
  • ‘You’re so cheesy, you know that, right?’ I ask giggling. He kisses the top of my head, making me giggle even more.
  • Minho and I have known each other since we were kids and somewhere along the line, I started having a crush on him. Little did I know that he also had a crush on me. If it wasn’t for Yun who dared us to tell the truth, we probably would have never admitted it. Now, we’ve been together for nine months and they’ve been the most amazing months of my life. Suddenly we see a wishing star passing by, lighting up the sky.
  • ‘WHOA!!’ I say sitting up. I close my eyes and quickly make a wish. I wish to stay this happy with Minho and Yun for the rest of my life! I hear Minho laughing and I turn to look at him but I realize he’s also making a wish. He opens his eyes and looks at me and I poke him on the cheek. ‘What did you wish for?’ I ask.
  • ‘I won’t tell you otherwise it won’t come true.’ He says. ‘Minnie.’ He says again, this time sounding serious. I turn completely so I can face him properly. ‘I love you.’ He says.
  • ‘Minho…’ I begin as I smile. ‘I love you too.’ I say. The two of us lean closer to each other as we press our lips together. We smile into the kiss before we pull away. He caresses my cheek and I smile as I lean my face into his hand.
  • ‘When we grow up, after the two of us graduate, I want to marry you.’ He says. I sit up with surprise as I look at him. He starts to chuckle loudly as he holds onto his stomach. ‘I’m being honest. I want to spend my forever with you. Don’t you want for us to be together forever?’ He asks. This time I’m the one smiling as I nod.
  • ‘Yes, yes I do.’ I say as I lean in for another kiss.
  • *Present Time*
  • ‘I remember waking up in the morning and you and Minho were sleeping in the balcony just as our appas came. They were so furious with us.’ Yun says and I nod.
  • ‘I know but we couldn’t care less. That night Minho had said he wanted us to get married once we graduate but I guess it wasn’t meant to be after all.’ I say with a sad sigh.
  • ‘Oh Minji.’ Yun says as she quickly embraces me in a hug. I take a deep breath while she rubs my back. She pulls away and places her hands on my shoulders as she often does. ‘Minji, sweetie.’ She begins.
  • ‘I know Yun. It’s time to move on and I promise I’m trying. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine in a few minutes.’ I say. ‘Shall I help you with the cooking?’ I ask.
  • ‘There’s my girl.’ She says as she smiles widely. ‘Come on, I still need to do the pizza squares and the sausage rolls. You can do those, all you have to do is open up the pastry, cut it in squares and then put the sausages in and roll.’ She says.
  • ‘Oh yeah I can do that.’ I say as we enter the kitchen which is full of stuff. ‘Ahh Yun… what are you baking?’ I ask as she throws me an apron.
  • ‘Macaroons. I know how much you like them.’ She says as she ties the knot of my apron. ‘We still have three hours. Two hours to finish preparing the food and an hour to get ready before they arrive.’ She says, looking at the clock.
  • ‘Yep. I wonder how Dong Min is going on his weekend away with Thomas – the English guy. I saw him on Monday when Dong Min drove me to Uni. He’s quite hot and his accent is to die for.’ I say as I roll the pastry out.
  • ‘Like Tom Hiddleston?’ She asks and I nod. ‘Damn. I’ve always had a thing for a man in an accent.’ She says laughing. ‘Do you remember when I went out with Pierre the French guy? I had no clue what he was saying – I just kept listening to his accent.’ She says as rolls the prawns into the breadcrumbs.
  • ‘Yah of course I remember. You were so lost that you didn’t realize he was asking you to go to his place and pose as a naked woman so he can paint you. I had to call and pretend I had a crisis on my hand.’ I say, laughing at the memory. ‘Is this size good?’ I ask her as I cut out the first square.
  • ‘Perfect. I’ll finish doing these and start preparing the kimchi.’ She says and I nod.
  • ‘Will you make the spicy one too?’ I ask.
  • ‘Of course.’ She replies with a wink.
  • Jungkook
  • We arrive in front of the girls’ apartment and Namjoon rings the doorbell. A few seconds later, Minji opens the door for us with a big smile on her face. ‘Hi boys. Come on in. Our apartment is kind of small so I hope you’ll be comfortable.’ She says.
  • ‘I’m sure we will. Don’t worry about it.’ Yoongi replies offering her a smile as we start walking behind her. We go up the stairs and we see Yun waiting by their own door. We walk inside and I’m instantly greeted by the smell of delicious food. We walk into a large open space which includes the kitchen and living room. On one side there is the kitchen, with the fridge, stove and counters. In the same area there is a table and four chairs. Opposite there is the space with the sofa, a large coffee table, a TV screen, speakers and a huge bookshelf. The walls that make up the living space are blue while the furniture is yellow and white, making the room look absolutely cute. All across the walls are various photos and paintings.
  • ‘Did you prepare all of this?’ Jin asks, his eyes going wide at all the food which is on the coffee table. There are various plates with party food including sausage rolls, pizza, prawns, spring rolls, chicken pieces and a number of other items. I see three plates of different kimchi as well.
  • ‘Yeah. We did everything from scratch and Minji helped a lot too. I think Minji really put an effort today.’ Yun says laughing while earning a playful slap from Minji.
  • ‘Everything smells wonderful.’ I say giving them a thumbs up. ‘You didn’t have to prepare all of this.’ I add.
  • ‘JK is right. We really do appreciate your hospitality.’ Namjoon says. He gives us a signal as we all bow together, which clearly flusters the girls, making us laugh.
  • ‘It’s nothing really. I love to cook and it’s not like everyday that the biggest k-pop group agrees to come to your house.’ Yun says still smiling. ‘Please sit down. We’ll get the chairs from the kitchen.’ She adds.
  • ‘Don’t bother, we can sit on the floor. We don’t mind.’ Taehyung says. We settle down with Jin, Namjoon and Hoseok squashing together on the couch while Minji sits down on the ground between me and Jimin while Yun sits down next to Taehyung and Yoongi. Yun switches on the TV and we begin to chat and eat while we wait for the program to begin. We hear the doorbell ring and the girls exchange a look before Minji stands up and goes to the door. She looks through the peephole and then open the door.
  • ‘APPA!!’ She yells as a man in a suit walks in holding a big box full of groceries. He puts the box down on the floor and then hugs her tightly. For some reason I don’t know, I feel a knot in my throat. Maybe it’s because I feel a certain happiness to know that at least she has parents who love her, even if they’re not her real parents. I find myself wondering if she knows - knowing would make telling her so much easier. He turns around and his eyes land on us.
  • ‘Kyung Minji – why do you have seven boys in your living room?’ He asks, his voice rather authoritative. His voice alone sends shivers down my spine. Yun quickly stands up and goes to stand next to Minji as she gives him a quick bow.
  • ‘Appa. They’re friends we invited over. You don’t need to worry.’ Minji says, trying to give her best cute face. Her ‘father’ looks at her and then at Yun who smiles and waves at him.
  • ‘Hello Uncle. Minji’s right. We have a friend competing on a dance show and we’re all here to watch her.’ Yun explains. He takes a step forward, ignoring the girls as he comes towards us as we all stand up hurriedly. I can’t help but gulp. He looks at each one of us in the eye and then stops in front of me. His eyes go slightly narrow as he sees me and then he shakes his head. I feel the sweat pouring down my back.
  • ‘I am District Attorney Kyung, if you hurt one of these girls, we’ll be having words. Do you understand?’ He asks. We all nod hurriedly.
  • ‘Aish! Appa! Must you always act like this every time I have friends who are boys?’ Minji asks as he turns around to face her.
  • ‘My precious Minji, you’re my princess and I love you with all my heart but sweetie, you’re also a magnet for trouble.’ He says and I see Minji chewing on her bottom lip. I can’t help but smile at her reaction. ‘Like for example getting into a fight with two boys last week, remember?’ He asks.
  • ‘They were going to beat up Byung Hoon and for the record, I warned them to let it go. They were too stubborn and underestimated me.’ She responds quickly as he crosses his arms across his chest.
  • ‘Mentioning Byung Hoon – why on Earth did you challenge his father and call him a pompous old *?’ He asks. I feel my eyes go wide as I hear this. Aish this girl really has a way of getting into trouble! Why am I worried so much?
  • ‘He called me a whore and he was going to hit me and he threatened to have me arrested. How do you always manage to know everything?’ She asks, sounding more like a whine. Yet, I feel my body tremble with anger. How dare this old man do that to her! Maybe Byung and his father aren’t so different, but, then why would she protect him?
  • ‘He came to my office to clear his name. He thought you told me.’ Her father begins as he breaks into a smile. ‘Yah! You should have seen his face when he realized I tricked him into telling me the truth. He left the office huffing. You were awesome! I am proud of you.’ He says as he begins to laugh and they fist pump. I look at my hyungs who all have the same confused expression on their faces. Is he really praising her? ‘That man really is a pompous old * and you put him in his place but try not to anger him again.’ He warns her.
  • ‘I can’t make promises Appa. He was hitting Byung just for wanting to become a teacher. What kind of father does that? I don’t understand it. I’m lucky to have you as my Appa.’ She says as she hugs him. For some reason, it feels like a stab to my heart as she says it. Would you say that about our Appa?
  • ‘Yes, you are. Anyways, I just came by to drop you some groceries and make sure you and Yun are okay before I head back. Have an important case right now.’ He says.
  • ‘Okay Appa. Thank you for the things. I love you and give Eomma a kiss for me.’ She says as she kisses his cheek. Yun gives him a quick hug as well as they wave goodbye at him. As soon as they close the door, they both turn around, rest against it and close their eyes and let out a deep breath. Finally they walk back to us and I see Minji looking at us nervously. ‘Sorry about that, Appa can be very intimidating, especially to friends who are boys.’ Minji says.
  • ‘You look like you’re pretty close with him.’ I say and she nods as she comes back to sit down between me and Jimin as we all settle back to our places.
  • ‘Yeah we are. I’m close to Eomma as well. They have really been there for me, through everything.’ She explains and I nod.
  • ‘Ahh it’s starting!!’ Jimin says as he points to the screen. We start watching, commenting on the dance, the song choices, the costumes, the pairings. Every now and then I hear Jimin talking quietly to Minji and I find myself looking at them. 'You look pretty cute tonight.' He whispers and I see Minji blushing a little.
  • ‘They’re up next.’ Hoseok says, getting excited. Minji stands up as does Yun as the two girls go in the corner as they hold on to each other. The dance starts with Yoona sitting on the ground while Taemin walks slowly towards her, his face covered.
  • ‘Yah!! This is so exciting.’ Yun shrieks which causes me and the boys to laugh. He sits down so they are back to back before they both drop to the ground. They begin the dance as they move their arms and legs, mirroring each other. They turn as they face to each other before they stand up. They're both facing forward as Taemin removes his mask. I hear Minji and Yun both fangirling and I can't help but smile even more. The beat changes a bit and their movements get stronger, sharper and more dramatic. They move flawlessly, making use of all the space around them.
  • 'Wah look at their facial expressions! They're so precise.' Jimin exclaims, earning a nod from Hoseok who is looking at the dance as if he is a judge on the show himself. Taemin and Yoona walk closer as their hands touch and then they turn back to back before they both face to turn the crowd. I can't help but gawk in awe as I see the power in their dance. Noona is definitely one of the best dancers I have ever seen in my life. They come back to back once more before they shift again, ending with Taemin on the floor and Yoona still standing. All of us end up clapping as well while the girls scream.
  • ‘Are you always this loud?’ Yoongi asks while he laughs. Both girls nod.
  • ‘Yep. It’s not like you haven’t seen fan girls shouting and screaming.’ Yun responds. ‘We get really excited.’ She adds and Minji nods. They come to sit back down as we continue to watch the show. We wait until the end finally comes as we wait for the announcement. Suddenly, I feel Minji grabbing my hand and I look at her, surprise on my own face as she does so. I realize she is also holding Jimin’s hand who looks at her and gulps before he smiles. She squeezes our hands and it’s almost like a reminder of how strong she is.
  • ‘And the winner of tonight’s episode are….’ The MC begins as all the contestants are lined up behind him. ‘Taemin and Yoona.’ He yells into the microphone. All of us here jump from our seat as we cheer as well.
  • Jimin
  • We stay at their place for another hour before we start getting ready to leave. I can’t help but keep looking at Minji every now and then. Even though she’s wearing very casual clothes, she still looks pretty. I watch her as she goes to the window and then turns to us with a worried face. ‘Um boys… it’s raining pretty hard out there. Did you come by car?’ She asks.
  • ‘Um, no, we walked.’ Taehyung admits as we look at each other. Minji and Yun look at each other, looking as if they are communicating with just looking at each other.
  • ‘I know this is probably isn’t the most convenient but how about you sleep over? Yun and I can sleep in one bed so some of you can have the other bed but I’m afraid the couch and the floor are what we can offer.’ Minji says.
  • ‘No, we don’t want to bother you.’ Namjoon says.
  • ‘It won’t be a bother at all and we’re not letting you get out in that weather.’ Minji says.
  • ‘Besides, it’s not like we’re going to carry you on our backs.’ Yun says. ‘Min, come help me get them the blankets and the cushions from the box room.’ She says and Min nods as the two disappear, clearly not taking no for an answer. The members and I all look at each other and then at Namjoon.
  • ‘Guess we’re staying. They’re right though – the weather is horrible.’ Namjoon says as he looks out the window.
  • ‘I hope it won’t trouble them too much.’ Yoongi mutters just as we suddenly hear them scream. Jungkook breaks into a run and I run right after him, only to find the girls sitting on the floor, on top of each other, with a number of cushions, boxes and books on them.
  • ‘Are you okay?’ Jungkook asks as he offers his hand to Yun while I offer my hand to Minji. Minji rubs at her backside while Yun rubs her head.
  • ‘We’re okay. We lost our balance but good news – we got your cushions.’ Minji says as they both begin to laugh. I shake my head as I smile as well as I realize these girls are just like us. They're loud and funny and spending time with them always makes us happy. We help them pick up the objects and Namjoon and Jin start placing them back up. We go back to the living room as the girls quickly get to work – they move the couch against the wall and grab the coffee table and drag it to the kitchen to create space there. We settle the blankets and cushions on the floor and then turn to each other.
  • ‘So who’s taking the other bed?’ Yun asks. We look at each other, knowing this is going to be a matter of rocks, papers and scissors as we all put our hand forward. ‘Oh that’s one way to settle it I guess.’ She comments. We do the first two rounds, resulting in Yoongi and Taehyung taking the bed. Jin takes the couch while the rest of us get ready to settle on the floor.
  • ‘We’re really sorry we couldn’t offer anything better Oppa.’ Minji says to me as she hands me another cushion.
  • ‘Don’t worry about it Minji. We really appreciate you letting us stay here.’ I say and she nods. ‘Go sleep, you need to wake up early for school tomorrow.’ I say and she nods once again as she yawns.
  • I wake up to the sound of kitchen utensils. I sit up and stretch, my body aching from sleeping on the floor. I look at the boys who are still asleep or starting to wake up and then walk towards the kitchen area where Yun is busy preparing breakfast. ‘Good morning Yun.’ I say.
  • ‘Good morning. Do you want some coffee?’ She asks and I nod. She moves expertly and before I know it, I have a mug of coffee in front me.
  • ‘Thanks.’ I say. ‘How do you have so much energy in the morning?’ I ask, laughing.
  • ‘I’ve always been an early riser. So is Minji usually but she’s more likely than I am to pull an all nighter to study or finish an assignment.’ She explains. One by one, everyone starts to come to the kitchen as Yun hands breakfast to everyone.
  • ‘This is amazing. Thank you.’ Jin says just as we hear running. I turn to see Minji running into the kitchen. She almost bumps into Yoongi who is just walking in the room.
  • ‘*, *, *.’ She mutters, sounding out of breath as she looks at Yun who gives her a mug. She takes a couple of sips while Yun hands her a piece of toast. Minji takes two bites of it and leaves it there. ‘I forgot that Dong Min isn’t here to drive me today. Aish I’m going to be so late. I’ll see you later for work.’ She says as she takes off running once more. We hear the door slam behind her.
  • ‘She hates being late. Her lectures won’t start until eight and Uni is only thirty minutes away.’ She says and I look at the clock above the fridge which shows ten past seven, which means she has enough time to arrive without being late. We hear the door open again. ‘YAH!!’ She screams as she runs to her room and comes out with her laptop bag and runs out once again.
  • ‘Should she be running like that? She could get into an accident.’ Jungkook murmurs.
  • ‘She’ll be fine.’ Yun comments as she opens the fridge to put in the milk. ‘Aish – that girl!!’ Yun says with a frown as she pulls out a container. ‘She forgot her lunch behind.’ She says, shaking her head.
  • ‘She is definitely your sister.’ I whisper to Jungkook who is sitting next to me.
  • A lot happened in this chapter. We had Hoseok visiting Yoona and eating with her at the dance studio. We had the boys visiting the girls and ending up staying there for the night. We also met with Papa Bear - he has a good relationship with Minji and it's clear he's very proud of her and supportive of her. BUT we also saw a little of Minji's past - Minho - who is Minho? Where is he now? Why does she always get sad when she remembers him? What happened to them and their promise of forever? I look forward to what you think. - Tae's Misfit.
